Where it all began...

As a new mother, navigating the turbulent waters of sleep deprivation, nappies, and the highs and very lows, I often felt lost in my new role as a parent.

In those chaotic moments, I knew I deserved a medal - because all mothers deserve a medal!

ROHO was born by the need to be recognised as a new mother, and from the necessity to create something tangible to capture that fleeting newborn stage - and to make it timeless enough that I would be proud to wear all the time. I wanted my medal!

Thus, amidst the whirlwind of life, ROHO emerged. It was truly a family endeavour: my husband proposing the Swahili name meaning soul/spirit, and my daughter serving as the muse. And most importantly, the creative process acted as a catharsis, giving me a sense of purpose, initiating a lasting legacy, and bestowing upon me the metaphorical medal I knew I deserved.

The outcome of this journey was a collection of impression jewellery made to commemorate a loved ones spirit. The beauty of the casting technique lay in the fact that each piece was crafted by hand, and symbolises a unique connection between two loved ones - No two fingerprints are the same.

Just like motherhood, ROHO is an all-encompassing journey, by getting you involved into the immersive process, and creating beautiful family heirlooms while you are at it!
